Image: it’s the most significant, most vital aspect of any company, person, brand, you name it! In the digital age, we are constantly bombarded with image at every turn. Each product shouting, essentially, “PICK ME!”, and for any single one of us entrepreneurs who have dreams and ambition, it can be somewhat intimidating. There’s a lot of competition out there, so when it comes to enhancing our image further, the topic of merchandise comes to mind. But, are products and merchandise essential to our brands anymore, or are they far more important than they’ve ever been?

Merchandise is a logical extension of a brand, and so it needs to be treated with the same level of care as a logo would. The logo is the signifier of your brand, and it becomes the centerpiece of your overall company attitudes and ethos. Every business owner’s dream is to get to the stage where people look at their brand and think that their business is a name that can be trusted. Trust builds repeat business, which, of course, will help to create traffic.

The logo, regardless of the merchandise its emblazoned on, should be a symbol of your company, and we should see who it is aimed at and how its philosophy unfolds. Products and merchandise are their own aspect of marketing.  Let’s face it, brand matters. It’s not the same as a massive billboard with your name on it, but it’s an important one nonetheless. It works to build loyalty with your customers, it works to create your own style, and it makes your image impactful. Creating a perfect unity between brand, logo and merchandise is a fine art, but once it has been achieved, this will be a phenomenal way to bolster your business.
