LIVING YOUR LIFE LIKE IT’S GOLDEN AND NON-NEGOTIABLE by  Mom Coach Jacqueline Miller
Networking event attendee:  “Hello, who are you and what do you do?”Me: “I’m a Mom Coach & Strategist.”A slightly puzzled look came over her face and before she could ask the question that I am so accustomed to answering, (“What does that mean?”), I responded:Me:  “I work with AMAZING women, primarily amazing Moms. As a result of working with me, busy, unfulfilled Moms are give themselves permission to pursue their dreams and to be great Moms, guilt-free. I help women get clear on what they truly want, giving them the much-needed permission to reconnect with (or redefine) their pre-Mom dreams, so they can finally feel like they matter outside of motherhood. Do you know of any Moms who are stuck and anxious to become the women they WANT to be…not just the Moms they’re expected to be?”Ahhhh…. That look of enlightenment surfaced, and we were able to continue our conversation, intrigued by each other’s passion and purpose.

I am accustomed to people asking about my profession, how I got into this field and what it is that I do for my clients.  Without a doubt, there is no cookie cutter approach to what I do and every situation is different. However, when working with women, especially 1:1, it is my intention to provide them with no less than three non-negotiables:

Non-negotiable #1:  Personal Attention

Most people do not have someone to go to who is willing to give them 1:1 attention, or who is willing to hold a private space just for them.  Rarely can we call on a friend or a family member to express our concerns, our fears or desires to, without them interjecting their own concerns, fears, and/or desires. Seldom do these conversations come without judgment either.  Family and friends occasionally have limiting beliefs about you and your dreams – but a good coach doesn’t.
As a coach, I am present to assist my client with gaining clarity on what it that she truly wants out of life, outside of motherhood and then to help her develop a road map to that destination, all while maintaining a sense of healthy harmony in her life.  A place or zone where she is free to pursue her dreams, implement self-care and love on her family, all guilt-free.  When a mom is clear about her passion, she becomes clear about her purpose. With clarity comes personal freedom, financial freedom, time freedom and a greater willingness to commit to living her very best life.  She is now free to inspire her children AUTHENTICALLY  to pursue their dreams, because she is their mirror, taking the action needed to pursue her own.

Non-negotiable #2:  It’s a Process

Many times, we put off going after things that we really want, because we are intimidated by how “unrealistic” it may seem.  Fear of the unknown is a mega dream killer.  I encourage my clients to make a long-term plan, to paint that picture of the life that they seek and are worthy of.  Next, establish realistic goals, short and long term, and then identify the action needed to accomplish those goals satisfactorily.
Pursuing our dreams is a process; it’s a marathon, not a race. Sometimes you have to stop and think about the smaller tasks that need to be completed, in order to complete the larger ones. Women typically want to go right in for the kill, straight to the BIG things. Why? Because we are problem solvers by nature, fierce female warriors, and, therefore, we often seek instantaneous results and resolutions to everything.  As a coach, I help clients clear out the cobwebs that tend to clutter their thinking, by helping them go after one goal and one obstacle at a time. This approach makes for a much smoother path on her chosen personal journey to living her fullest life. Less overwhelm and less chance of her wanting to give up on a dream.

Non-negotiable #3: The Proverbial “Deep Dive”.

As women, we are often our biggest critics. We quickly highlight our weaknesses and often struggle to uncover our strengths. Celebrate your accomplishments, Mom — no matter how small they are!  I empower women to find their inner fierce, to cease going on wild goose chases looking for what is already within. You cannot find what you already have.  “It” is not lost, but often she is lost in the wilderness of chaos and uncertainty. I help them uncover what’s already there, reminding them that they are their own opportunity. Everything that we seek is within us. Often times we must complete a personal “deep dive” in order to stand in our truth. Past, present and future truths.  And without a doubt, stop seeking validation and approval from others.  During this same networking event, former co-host of The View, Star Jones said some of the best advice that she has received in her life came from music industry legend, Quincy Jones. He reminded her that not one ounce of her self-esteem depended on someone else’s opinion of her. #BOOM
Above all, if you are guilty of this, stop procrastinating with your life. The perfect time is not coming, the perfect circumstances don’t exist and here’s a newsflash: You were born fully loaded!

As a coach, I am one of, if not my client’s biggest cheerleader, uncovering the gifts and talents that for many have lain dormant for years. I help clients focus within, to dig deep in search of those genuine opportunities that will make the greatest difference in their lives. Excuses about finances, parenting, relationships, self-care and time management, for example, are addressed and in gladiator fashion, they’re handled!

My clients are so grateful when they receive the three non-negotiables that come with my coaching, More importantly, they are amazed by and appreciative of the results. Who doesn’t want to uplevel their Mom life?

I am living proof that when a woman gets clarity and identifies her passion, that she will then uncover her purpose with greater ease.

The amazing motivational speaker Lisa Nichols reminded me that my story, my journey, and my gifts were a present to someone else. My test is now my testimony, and my “mess” is now my message.

I am humbled and so very grateful to be able to inspire other women to live their fullest lives –unapologetically. Their ultimate happiness and their self-worth should always be non-negotiable, no matter what.

I write this in appreciation for all of my amazing clients and I thank you for allowing me to (re)introduce myself.

Peace and blessings!

Jacqueline
